Wales first in UK to ease some coronavirus lockdown measures

In a sign of what might come for the rest of the UK, Wales has announced that from Monday its residents will be able to exercise outdoors more than one a day, with garden centres also set to reopen. Speaking to Sky News, Welsh First Minister Mark Drakeford says he hopes the PM’s speech on Sunday will outline a broad direction of what’s to come and give people hope.

Scotland appears to have gone in a different direction, keeping its lockdown unchanged as First Minister Nicola Sturgeon warns of a ‘cliff edge’ if support for the furlough scheme is scrapped too quickly.
