Donald Trump took aim at the ‘oldest ally’ of the US this afternoon, saying he was ‘very surprised’ by the UK reaction to the war in the Middle East.

When asked about the UK and Starmer’s contribution to the Iran offensive, Trump said Europe ‘should be jumping to help us’.

The 79-year-old has launched a string of attacks on the Prime Minister after he refused to allow British bases to be used for strikes on Iran last month.
