High pressure continues to bring plenty of dry and sunny weather across England, Wales and Northern Ireland this afternoon, with temperatures climbing into the mid-20s in the south and southeast. Further north, cloud, rain and blustery winds will affect parts of Scotland, with the heaviest outbreaks focused on northern and western areas and gusts reaching 30 to 40 mph along exposed coasts. Eastern Scotland will see the best of the brighter conditions and feeling fresher where cloud and rain linger. This is the Met Office UK weather forecast for the afternoon of 07/08/2026. Bringing you today’s forecast is Alex Burkill.
