COVID-19: UK’s economic slump to be ‘longer but less severe’

The Bank of England has warned that Britain’s economy could take longer to bounce back than first thought – but won’t be as bad as predicted.

It held interest rates and is predicting unemployment will rise to 7.5% by the end of the year.

But it says the downturn won’t be as severe as many people feared.
