The Ganges is among the world’s most well-known rivers, however for years it has been broken by heavy pollution and overuse. For that millions who depend onto it for consuming and washing, it may be hazardous.

After his election in 2014, India’s pm Narendra Modi guaranteed to wash in the river by 2020.
