Britain is in the middle of what scientists are calling a ‘wind drought’.

Average wind speed is expected to drop by 10% by the end of the century, which could have huge implications for the future of renewable energy in the UK.

The government has a target to ramp up offshore wind capacity and turn off gas and coal power stations by 2035.
