Starmer declined a US request to use British bases for offensive operations against Iran, citing concerns about the legality of the operations, but approved a request to use the bases for “specific and limited” defensive purposes.

Starmer said “this government does not believe in regime change from the skies” and that he will not commit British military personnel to unlawful action, in a clear disagreement with Trump’s actions in Iran.
