►The order to stay home made an unwelcome return for millions of people as Storm Eunice battered the UK with record-breaking winds.
Schools, businesses, roads and bridges were closed… Railways, airports and ferry services were all badly disrupted. And tens of thousands of homes are without power.
In Ireland, a man was killed by a falling tree, while several people have been injured in incidents across Britain. The Met Office says a gust of 122 miles an hour was recorded on the Isle of Wight, the strongest ever in England. Julian Druker reports on today’s once in a generation storm.
