ITV News has learned that 150 new resilience hubs are being set up by the Red Cross, with hundreds of volunteers being trained to give support in a crisis.

It follows the government’s warnings to stock up on three days’ worth of supplies in case of disruption to food or utilities.

New figures given to ITV News show a big rise in sales of emergency supplies, including torches, power banks and radios.
