Spanish police brutally beat Gaza flotilla activists following release from Israel

Several members of the Global Sumud Flotilla were brutally beaten by Spanish police following their detention and deportation by Israel.

Several members landed in Bilbao Airport on Saturday, before clashes broke out between the Ertzaintza, an autonomous police force in the Basque Country.

As police beat some of the members and others were being arrested, activists began hopping onto one another, forcing officers to separate them.

According to Euro News, four activists were arrested for charges ranging from serious disobedience, resisting authority and assaulting a police officer.

The clash occurred after six flotilla members posed for the media while blocking off one of the airport’s arrivals exits, leading to police intervening.
