Opinion polls in the local elections put Reform and Labour ahead of the Tories.
Professor Sir John Curtice told Andrew Marr: “The warning signs were very, very clearly there in the outcome of the general election last July.”
The Tories and Labour got less than 60% of the vote, which the polling expert remarks is the first time that this happened since 1922.
Andrew Marr adds that Nigel Farage seems to have “an influence in British politics that goes well beyond what you might expect from an opposition party leader”.
