Investigating the New IRA in Northern Ireland – BBC News

Police in Northern Ireland state that any witnesses towards the dissident republican murder of journalist Lyra McKee is going to be offered anonymity when they accept give evidence against her killers. She was shot dead two days ago through the New Irish Republican Army, referred to as New IRA. The killing has sparked a backlash from the hardliners who still launch attacks greater than twenty years following the signing from the Northern Ireland Agreement that ended the Troubles.

Everybody the audience referred to as ‘Saoradh’ would be the political voice from the New IRA. They are saying they performed no role within the dying of Lyra McKee. The BBC’s Ireland Correspondent Emma Vardy reports around the group from Londonderry.
