A 17-year-old girl is in hospital after being stabbed in the neck in Brierfield, near Nelson. Armed police were sent to the scene and a 30-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. Lancashire Police say the girl’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, but the attack has still caused alarm in the local community. Officers are now appealing for witnesses and any CCTV or doorbell footage that could help the investigation.
