Here’s how Iceland made The US and UK fight each other. So Iceland was way important for the US during the cold war, And its self-defense fully relied on NATO. It’s economy was heavily based on fish industry, so it kept increasing it’s fishing boundaries, which Britain didn’t like saying they’ve been fishing here for centuries and sent their warship to protect their fishermen. But Iceland couldn’t 1v1 The British, so it warned NATO that they would leave or kick the US out of their airbases, if UK doesn’t cooperate. Eventually US pressured and UK had to back down.
