Coronavirus: Why doesn’t the UK have enough ventilators?

Health Secretary Matt Hancock has appealed for more ventilators, saying the NHS would buy any number a manufacturer can make amid the coronavirus outbreak.

On Sophy Ridge on Sunday, the chairman of the British Medical Association said under-funding in key medical equipment has left the UK in a “far worse” starting position than the rest of Europe.
