Reform UK’s Home Affairs Spokesperson Zia Yusuf joins GB News from Ceuta after thousands of migrants crossed into the Spanish-owned territory, arguing that the scenes should serve as a warning for Britain. Speaking from the border, Yusuf says the UK must urgently strengthen its immigration system, warning that without tougher border security, similar situations could become increasingly common.
During the interview, Yusuf sets out what a Reform UK government would do to tackle illegal migration, insisting Britain is “more than capable of securing and defending our borders.” He also claims that individuals with serious criminal and terrorist backgrounds have entered the UK via illegal migration routes and argues that border security should be treated as a national priority.
Yusuf also launches a sharp attack on Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham, accusing him of failing to prioritise the small boats crisis. Meanwhile, GB News reporter Dougie Beattie challenges Yusuf on Reform UK’s position on leaving the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR), questioning why the UK would need to leave the convention if Spain can deport migrants while remaining a member.
