The cloud over the east will begin to clear while showers will persist over northwest Scotland. Dry elsewhere, however overnight, fog will develop over central and eastern England with a yellow warning in place from midnight. In the early hours of Wednesday morning, cloud over Northern Ireland and western Scotland will thicken and there will be an onset of further rain. Yellow rain warnings are in place for southern England through Wednesday and Thursday. – This is the Met Office UK weather forecast for the evening of 16/12/2025.
